The Emirates Orthopaedic Society (EOS) was formed in October 1989 with the intention of advancing the science and practice of orthopaedics and trauma through professional interaction among doctors in the UAE who have an active interest in this field. As a prominent medical organization within the United Arab Emirates, established by the Emirates Medical Association, EOS is dedicated to advancing orthopaedics through education, research, and clinical practice. Since its first congress in 2011, EOS has played a pivotal role in bringing together orthopaedic surgeons, healthcare professionals, and researchers to foster knowledge exchange and collaboration.
The Orthopaedic & Trauma Society has been actively involved in numerous conferences, including the Pan Arab Orthopaedic Meeting, the GCC Orthopaedic Meeting, and all Emirates meetings.
The EOS collaborates with several international orthopaedic organizations, including the International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SICOT) and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). These partnerships help in bringing global expertise and perspectives to the local orthopaedic community, enhancing the quality of education and training provided.
In summary, the Emirates Orthopaedic Society, founded in 1989, stands as a cornerstone of the orthopaedic field in the UAE, dedicated to enhancing the standards of care through education, research, and professional collaboration. Its ongoing efforts and commitment to excellence ensure that orthopaedic practitioners in the UAE are well-equipped to meet the challenges of the future and provide the highest quality of care to their patients.
Through its comprehensive programs and initiatives, the Emirates Orthopaedic Society has significantly contributed to the advancement of orthopaedic practice in the UAE. The Society’s efforts have resulted in improved patient care, better clinical outcomes, and a more robust orthopaedic community.
Looking ahead, the EOS aims to continue its mission of excellence by embracing new technologies, promoting interdisciplinary collaborations, and expanding its educational outreach. By doing so, the Society hopes to remain at the forefront of orthopaedic innovation and continue making a positive impact on the health and well-being of patients in the UAE and beyond.
The Emirates Orthopaedic Society is renowned for organizing the annual Emirates International Orthopaedic Congress, which attracts leading orthopaedic surgeons and specialists from around the world. This congress serves as a major forum for discussing the latest research findings, technological advancements, and clinical practices in orthopaedics.
In addition to the congress, the EOS conducts various specialized workshops and training sessions throughout the year. These programs cover a wide range of topics, from basic orthopaedic procedures to advanced surgical techniques, and are designed to cater to professionals at different stages of their careers.
